Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.
A new road or a secret gate,
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.
My Elvish half (Lady Luthien Rosriel) is now embarking on a quest to follow in the footsteps of the Fellowship of the Ring, in their travels across Middle-Earth. Along with the other members of the Fairy Tale Fellowship, - whom have been gathering from the Fairy Tale Novels Forum, where fans of Regina Doman gather to talk about her wonderful novels - we plan to walk from the beautiful Imladris, or Rivendell,

To the Golden woods of Lorien, where Lord Celeborn now resides, in the footsteps of the first fellowship, the Fellowship of the Ring.
The credit for this idea goes to Fosco Hildweller and the ladies at the Eowyn Challenge. Fosco, a hobbit, is making is own journey from Hobbiton to Rivendell with three companions. If you would care to start a journey of your own, the Eowyn Challenge website is the place to go! It looks like it will be a lot of fun, hope you all will follow a long!
The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin,
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin,
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.
Um...for the benefit of those of us (such as me) who have not been introduced to books and movies of "Lord of the Rings", could you possibly tell us in plain English what it is you are doing? Lol!
ReplyDeleteGod bless,

Ha! I knew someone was going to ask!
ReplyDeleteWell, according to my family members, I am not at all good at explaining (I could barely get past "What it is, is...)
So, the best way for you to understand is visit the Eowyn Challenge link. They do a wonderful job at explaining! (They should, they started it!)
And then READ THE BOOKS!!!!!!! You can't survive life without them! (In my opinion, anyways.)
That was a beautiful introductory post! I love the pictures you posted...I really need to get some more pictures over at the blog...
ReplyDeleteSounds like exercise to me! :)
ReplyDeleteIn the Summer after my seveth grade year...I first read the Hobbit and then The LOTR Trilogy.
ReplyDeleteI would often look up the places where the Walking Song appears (or the song that Frodo sings at the Prancing Pony), and would inevitably look up to find that it was three or four AM, and I had finished the book again.
By the end of my Freshman year in High School, I had read the Trilogy 13 times. (That was the year that the animated LOTR came out in the theater...oh, do I date myself). That was many years ago, but I still do the same thing...I just finished The Silmarillion (again) because I got the "Fellowship" out to read the drinking song to my husband...I wanted to "start at the beginning".
I will look up your Trek at Eowyn Challenge.
Blessings to you and Happy Anniversary. I hope my blog grows up to be as lovely as yours!
